Brickworld Or Bust!

Can't wait to see everyone at Brickworld this week. According to Lewis Black (the comedian), no one cares about people on Twitter. "Who gives a frak if you're buying shoes?!". Well, I don't care, as Twitter is kinda' dumb, and I wanna be able to look back on this some day. Also, I have been working with the AMAZING Pathogen TBaum on weapon concepts for Archetype. PMG was helpful here. Only a few more days till BW! Woot!

Brickworld is coming up! I am attending with my brother and father, and from what I have heard, it sounds awesome! I suggested that the TFOLs should have some sort of nerf/assassins game (like senior assassins). Anyway, that ship I had been building is toast. I scrapped it to make several urban warfare and Star Wars scenes, both of which you should come and check out! One inspiration to me lately has been the game The Force Unleashed. I really liked several of the early missions (not Felucia), and have built a large vig inspired by an early mission. One builder I was inspired by when building it was Jonathan from flickr and MOCpages. I really liked his TFU vigs, like Over Growth and Imperialized Raxus Prime (hint hint). I also have been working in a new faction, which I like to call the New Angkor Federation. For the record, it could easily be confused with Monkeycheez's NEA, but I thought of it back in early April. The confusion could be from the colors, as Orange is the color of NAF also, but it is greatly different. The NAF is a bloodthirsty coalition of Southeast Asian nations along with Australia, who plan to conquer the known universe. I was inspired by my Asia Studies class. The main rival of the faction is Outer Spain which was inspired by this photo. I am also brining some older stuff with me, including my Jeep, along with a Chibi style APC, and a small fighter.

On another note, I am thinking about changing my name to Moldy Crow. I use it in a great deal of game profiles, and I am tired of all this fap nonsense. Really guys? It's an old joke. You don't see me making fun other names, and if you wanna act like little 6th graders, go to MOCpages. Anyway, crazy rants aside, it gets tough sometimes.

Well, I would like to leave on a lighter note, so I urge you to watch this video. I personally am for the oil leak being plugged with ultra concentrated packing peanuts, delivered by GITMO prisoners led by Michael Phleps. Have a good day everyone...

Summer!

It is finally summer to me! I had my last finals yesterday, and will leave on the first of several vacations on Thursday. I am going to Caswell Beach. Later in June, I will have several classes, one in web design, and one in robotics. Hopefully these will help me get ready for robotics season. towards the end of June, I am attending Brickworld in Chicago, and I hope to meet some of my friends from Flickr. On July 4th, I leave for a 2 week Outward Bound survival camp in the Sierra Nevada mountains. It's a bummer I will miss the Fourth of July, but I get to go to San Francisco. Maybe I will meet the Mythbusters!

Anyway, I am planning on modding my CS6 today. I am also psyched that Burn Notice returns this week!

BP: Screw You!

Well, I was PO'ed about the oil spill in the first place, but now that it threatens to enter the Loop Current, I am even more angry. Depending on conditions it could destroy my favorite vacation spot, Caswell Beach. I think the 8th amendment should be bypassed when deciding the punishment of BP. Here are some ideas:

-The BP big wigs have to put on HAZMAT gear and go help clean up the spill. They get the dirtiest job.

-BP should be evicted from the American market.

-The BP big wigs should be forced to tread water in the heart of the spill for 3 weeks, but the truth is, they wouldn't last 3 minutes. (It would be unfortunate if someone were to produce an open flame around the oil >;})

-BP must pay all of its money to the people of the coast of Louisiana, and environmental groups.

These are what I think are fitting for the crime against nature that BP has commited...

Well, my birthday was Friday, so I am now 15. Due to school and life in general, I have neglected to post. I am currently working on a large vignette for BW10, and it will take a while. I will probably do a Brickarms review eventually. I really need to start blogging more often...

Steam

I haven't posted in quite a while, partially due to the fact that I recently got Steam. I can keep in touch with my friends from robotics much easier through it. I am pretty cheap, and not buying games until I finish my desktop. Luckily the amazing DtD showed me the free download of Half Life 2 Lost Coast and Deathmatch, plus the free download of the Portal demo as a promotional offer through nVIDIA. I also have been playing a lot of a game called Lost Planet: Extreme Condition. It has a very nice "Blood in the Snow" feel to it.

As I said above, I am making a PC. I am planning on buying all the parts, then assembling it for my desk. Once I finish that, I will get more games from Steam, including Day of Defeat Source, Garry's Mod, Zombie Driver, Lost Planet 1 and 2, and more. I can't wait!

Spring Break=Insomnia

I can't believe I am blogging at 2:30 in the morning, but I am, so there. Not being pressured to go to bed earlier is causing insomnia. I have been building Lego late, and daylight savings is a pain in the rear. Last night, I built a vig inspired by Neal Asher's Shadow of the Scorpion. Tonight, I built a vig about a fictional rebel squad on Hoth. I also am working on a vig of Concord Dawn, which will be a multiple part series, depicting a lone rebel agent working to cause chaos for the Empire before the arrival of rebel guerrillas. I also made a great deal of progress on my ship, The Bloodraven.

I also groomed the dogs today, and I had a sandwich at Jersey Mikes.

I don't really have too much else to write about, so good night...

Today, I slept till 1 in the afternoon. It sucked. It seems like I have been wasting my spring break. I worked on my Starship a little today. I am so bored. Nothing much else to say...

The Dog Days of Spring

Today, I am bored. I am on spring break, so I should be having fun, but I am holed up in the house due to bad weather. I think I will build some Lego today. Lately, I have been all over the place theme wise. I have been building WWII, USDF, and Star Wars all at the same time. I haven't built Star Wars since I was 10 or 11 until about a month ago. Some of Groovybones more recent work in Star Wars has really inspired me to get back into the field. I have been working on a small ship for some time, but I have already had to re-do it twice. Once because I didn't like where it was going, turning long and skinny instead of a short, fat, bucket of bolts, and the second time due to structural difficulty. I really need to order of Bricklink soon. The second project in the Star Wars realm I am working on is a series of vignettes all taking place in the same setting. Will Chapman of Brickarms was kind enough to send me some Star Wars inspired prototype weapons, including Han Solo's iconic DL44 and the Imperial E11 Blaster Rifle. The pistol can be seen here, and the Blaster Rifle here. If you would like to learn more about these prototypes and even more prototypes, you should check out the "Tales From the Garage" sub-forum in the Brickarms Forums. I would advise you to join th forums. They are a great place to meet others interested in the alternative Lego community.

In other news, I am going to St. Louis later this week. It is going to be hard going to "The Hill" (The Little Italy of St. Louis), because I gave up Beef for Lent. Maybe I will have to break that once or twice.

Here in Kansas, the weather has been crazy lately. We went from frigid winter to cold damp spring with literally no transition period. I love the rain, but only if it comes during the summer. Now it is just cloudy, and cold. It is hard on the two dogs, as with the bad weather, it is hard for me to walk them, especially alone.
